Horse Racing Form for Sandown 4 June 2014

Welcome to The Profits form guide for Sandown on 4 June 2014. Well that is May done and dusted and the coffers and well and truly stacked after a ripper Saturday to finish the month with only Arabian Gold (2nd and pulled up very very lame – wasn’t right in its action in the straight you could see it) missing from the 4 best for the day. A fairly wild card on offer at Sandown, I have offered up my best of the day and also my best multi of the day. As always, I hope your form matches up with mine! Good luck and happy punting.

Red means Top pick. Blue means second pick and Green refers to a saver pick. Orange means the pick looks value.

Sandown Big Boss Double
Glen Boss links up with the Kav to man up on two horses with big futures according to all reports.
Wild Rain in Race 3 is the first horse we look at. There are huge wraps on this horse from the yard and the horse has been aimed towards this 900m race for the first up run. A 150k purchase, her dam’s half-sister is the dam of Northerly. Bred with Northern Dancer on both sides as sprinter written all over her, she is a class above these by all reports and it’s rare you see Kav send horses to these mid-weekers.
West Africa in Race 4 is the second horse we look at. He was all the talk last prep recording a huge 9L victory in his maiden at Kilmore. The horse who started favourite that day was beaten 11 lengths and came out next start to win it’s maiden. The horse was scratched from a very important head-to-head meeting at Caulfield after kicking a feed bucket and injurying it’s leg… it then went around a $1.40 favourite at Moonee Valley in a harder race than this (I believe the horses here today are less classy than those who beat him) and was beaten on a Good track. Many theories were thrown up from Kav post race as to what went wrong, the track, blinkers or still hadn’t recovered from the injury as well as the team thought. He has had a good 6 months to get back to his best and from barrier 1 today, you know he will be in a position that suits out the front.

Comments: You can take those two runners outright or multi them, but with a name like the Big Boss Double, I have to put the fun tip up!
Confidence 75%
Strategy: Wild Rain (R3) West Africa (R4) Double – Price currently $11.90 (SB)

Sandown Race 5 – Two Horse Play
Junoesque was stunning first up recording a 3L victory at a distance that arguebly was too short for her. Yes, she did save ground, but it was a breathtaking run. But she is 0 places on slow or heavy for 1 start on each I hear you say? Those two runs were in her first prep when she didn’t record a win, but her best run that prep was infact a 5th on Slow defeated by just 1 length. At close to $3s, it’s hard to ignore here today.
I want to also take a position on a horse who has been up longer than .. insert pun here.. anyway.. Sinhala‘s last win game at this track over this distance.. she had been put back down to sprint distances which honestly isn’t her thing… and back to 1400m is more her thing. She was huge last start at Caulfield in MUCH harder company and is only up 3kg after claims… she is a huge price and has won on heavy previously so the track shouldn’t be a problem.

Confidence 80%
Strategy: Back Junoesque large bet. Smaller bet Sinhala.
