MLB Mid-Week 11 Preview & Bets

After a long weekend of tough games and some unpredictable series results we move into the mid week games that we all love to follow while at work, and this week has got some beauties for us to enjoy. A huge series in terms of divisional rivalries in Oakland visiting the Angels has to be the pick of the weeks match ups. Washington visiting the hot Giants also a mouth watering series to say the least.

Tuesday  10th

Best Bet –  Blue Jays -1.5 ($2.00)

Next Best –  Giants ($2.02)

Next Best – Tigers ($1.85)

Minnesota Twins vs Toronto Blue Jays  (9am AEST)

Twins ($2.68) – Nolasco

Blue Jays ($1.50) – Dickey

Over/Under  –  Over 9.5 ($1.99) Under 9.5 ($1.86)

Prediction

Blue Jays. After losing their last 2 games without evening putting up a run Toronto will be looking to bounce back and grab a series win at home over the Twins before they go on a 10 game road trip. Uncharacteristically not being able to put up runs recently, they will against a pretty woeful Twins pitching. With Dickey on the mound they who has only lost 1 in his last 9 starts they should do that. Nolasco 4-5 on the season with an ERA of 5.65 has won his last 2 starts however prior to that had been getting hit a bit and a high pitch count early on forcing him to leave. He generally gives up a Home Run each game so I expect the Big hitting Blue Jays to continue that trend. Jays win and win well

Suggested Bet

Blue Jays -1.5 ($2.00)

Oakland A’s  vs LA Angels  (12pm AEST)

A’s ($2.02) – Chavez

Angels ($1.83) – Richards

Over/Under  –  Over 8.5 ($2.02) Under 8.5 ($1.96)

Prediction

A’s. Chavez is having a career year currently 5-3 with an ERA of 3.04. He has however failed to pitch past the 6th inning for over a month which has to a concern. Lucky when he has given up runs, the A’s offense has bailed him out. Richards while 5-2, ERA of 3.25 has lost both his starts against the A’s this season. In his last outing against them he was yanked int the 1st after only getting 2 outs and giving up 5 runs on 37 pitches. Fair to say Oakland have his number. He was however impressive in his last start  in Houston striking out 9 in 8 innings giving up 0 runs. More confidence in Oakland putting up runs here then I am with LA, sure they do have power in Pujols and Trout but the rest have been inconsistent. The price on the A’s is the value even though im expecting a close game.

Suggested Bet

A’s to win ($2.02)

Other Suggested Bets

Washington Nationals vs San Francisco Giants  (12pm AEST)

A tough match up with Strasburg  going up against Vogelsong. The Giants are HOT at the moment again. Losing only 3 times in Vogelsongs 12 starts how do you not take the price on offer for them. Yes Strasburg is a beast but at AT&T park, where the Giants are 22-9. I’m taking the $2.02 for them to win.

Detroit Tigers vs Chicago White Sox  (10am AEST)

Porcello 8-3 with an ERA of 3.69 up against Noesi 1-4, ERA of 5.29. Have to lean towards the Tigers man. Chicago have an offense which just flat out frustrates. Abreu can get runs we know that, however if he is quiet they tend to struggle. Only query on this game is Cabrera being day to day with a hamstring problem. Likely to still DH and Detroit have enough batting either way to take this. Think the price is too good to refuse. Tigers have allowed some AL Central teams to catch them after such a great start, they now face the other 4 teams in 4 consecutive series. They need to win them all to keep their spot at the top and I’m taking the $1.85 on them to win this game.

Hope you all have a good week with your MLB betting, hopefully your thoughts on the games match up with mine. As always these are only a select few games I was interested in, feel free to share your opinions on any games at @MLB_TheProfits on Twitter. Happy Punting.
