English Premier League Week 33 – Mid Week Fixture Game Predictions, Tips and Bets

English Premier League - Football

Just when you thought you couldn’t get enough football we get some midweek games to keep us going through the week before another round of football games to come on the weekend. There’s some pretty good matchups here with Arsenal vs Everton and Fulham vs Chelsea probably the pick of the 4 games to be played this week with Everton and Fulham certainly a chance to sneak points.

Best Value Bet:  Can’t go past another Manchester United half/fulltime double at $2.66

Arsenal ($1.88) Versus Everton ($4.4), Draw ($3.9)

  • Last corresponding fixture: Arsenal 1 – 0 Everton (Dec 2011)
  • Arsenal Last 5: LWWWW
  • Everton Last 5: WWWDW

Both sides are in solid form here with 4 wins in their last 5 and both very much in contention for a top 4 spot with the Gunners currently sitting 3rd whilst Everton sits 6th only 3 points behind Spurs. Everton hasn’t been able to beat Arsenal home or away in their last 10 encounters in the premier league with Arsenal registering 7 wins. Everton has shown plenty of fight in recent weeks even without the likes of Fellaini and Pienaar for extended periods. Everton only has the 1 win and 2 draws over their last 5 away but they have a sniff of a chance to make the top 4 which will make them very competitive here. Arsenal left it pretty late to pile on the goals against Norwich and whilst they are a strong chance here to get the points at home, there’s just something about this Everton side. Should be a very close game that could well end in a draw much in the same fashion as Everton did against Spurs a few weeks ago
Predicted result: Draw 2-2
Best Bet: Both teams to score at $1.66
Confidence: 75%

West Ham ($5.9) Versus Manchester United ($1.67), Draw ($4.1)

  • Last corresponding fixture: West Ham 2 – 4 Manchester United (April 2011)
  • West Ham Last 5: WLWDD
  • Manchester United Last 5: WWWLW

West Ham hosts the juggernaut in Manchester United who will be looking looking to pump out another 3 point performance. The Hammer’s are in some good home form with 3 wins (WBA, Swansea, & Norwich) in their last 5 at home. RVP got back onto the scorers list with a goal against Stoke on the weekend having not scored in his previous 5 games.  West Ham will likely play for the draw here knowing that another point puts them in an even stronger position when it comes to relegation, though being on 38 points it’d take something of a miracle for them to drop from here. United may look to rotate a couple of players with another game coming up 5 days later against Villa though they have great depth to still be able to put a fantastic side out on the park. This should be another straight forward win here for Manchester United.
Predicted result: Manchester United 2-0
Best Bet: Manchester United at $2.66 for the half/fulltime double
Confidence: 85%

Manchester City ($1.24) Versus Wigan ($14.5), Draw ($7)

  • Last corresponding fixture: Manchester City 3 – 0 Wigan (Sept 2011)
  • Manchester City Last 5: WWLWW
  • Wigan Last 5: WLWWD

The main man the last time these two sides met at the Etihad was Aguero where he scored a hat trick. City has had some good home form this season losing only once to Manchester United and draws to the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton. Wigan are in a precarious position where they sit 18th on the table with games to come after this one against West Ham, Spurs and West Brom which is a very tough run when you’re fighting for survival. If they sneak a point here it’ll give them a huge boost but it’s hard to see anything but a win from City here in a preview to the upcoming FA cup final. It could come down to who has handled the emotions of winning their way into an FA cup final but City would be in a much better position to handle that pressure.
Predicted result: Manchester City 3-0
Best Bet: Over 2.5 goals at $1.55
Confidence: 85%

Fulham ($4.5) Versus Chelsea ($1.89), Draw ($3.85)

  • Last corresponding fixture: Fulham 1 – 1 Chelsea (April 2012)
  • Fulham Last 5: DWWLD
  • Chelsea Last 5: LWWLW

Fulham entertain a Chelsea side that has had played plenty of football lately where they are still in contention for the Europa league as well as playing on the weekend in their FA cup loss to Manchester City. Fulham has managed to draw Chelsea 5 times over their last 10 meetings but haven’t managed to get a win. Fulham has been strong defensively having only conceded 7 goals in their last 8 and only 5 in their last 5 at home. It’s likely that Benitez will again chop and change his squad with the hectic schedule they have had of late. This has had mixed results with losses (all coming Away) to Man City, Southampton and Newcastle in their last 8 overall. Fulham look good to take advantage of their London rivals hectic schedule and sketchy away form and are a strong chance for a draw here.

Predicted result: Draw 1-1
Best Bet: Double Chance Fulham at $1.91
Confidence: 70%

As an Australian growing up AFL was always my no.1 sport especially given I was lucky enough to grow up a few blocks from Carlton’s home ground, Princes Park, where I was lucky enough to attend many games. That’s where my passion for sport began but it was until the early 2000’s when I discovered a real passion for football with the Socceroos 2002 World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay accelerating my football journey. From there I began to follow the Premier League and haven’t looked back since. These days I’m a massive Tottenham fan where I’ve enjoyed many sleepless nights religiously watching them without missing a game despite many roller coaster feelings. There’s just something magical and glamorous when you watch the EPL and knowing the Profits owners Drew and Euan through studies, I’m now lucky enough to be able to share my thoughts on each game each week of the season.
