The 2015 season is down to 4 teams. The Royals, Jays, Cubs and Mets. Kansas has taken a strong 2-0 series lead in the ALCS as they continue to find ways to win. All eyes will be on New York on Monday as they only game in action. After the Mets took game 1 can Chicago bounce back ?

Chicago Cubs vs New York Mets (11.05am AEST Live ESPN)  

Mets lead 1-0
Cubs ($1.57) – Arietta (22-6, 1.77)
Mets ($2.48)  –  Syndergaard (9-7, 3.24)

After taking Game 1 with relative ease the Mets look to solidify the series while at home. It will be a tough task with Jake Arietta as the opposing pitcher. Matt Harvey was great early on in game 1 and it’s been a problem for the Cubs all post season, getting runs early. They have been falling behind and to their credit have done a great job of getting out of an early hole.

The Mets will oppose Arietta with flame throwing Noah Syndergaard. The youngster has had alot of success at Citi Field all season going 7-2 with a 2.46 ERA. The Cubs have a couple of guys with nice records against hard throwing pitchers yet they continue to strike out. If it’s not going to be a home run the cubs may not get too many runs off Noah.

That very well may not matter, as the Cubs will be thinking they can win this game with a couple of runs yet alone a handful. Considering Arietta is their starter, they will have all the confidence in the world to tie the series up. Considering his last post season outing against the Cardinals was not his best, giving up 5 hits over 5 innings with 4 runs he must bounce back. His post All Star ERA is a crazy 0.75 over 15 starts. It’s hard to see the Mets scoring too many off him.

The Bookies have set the market well, and there does not look to be much value in any playoff game when your getting the favourite at $1.57. However Arietta is too good and I have to stick with my pre post season statement of him winning every start he makes this playoff run. It happens here. Cubs win.
