MLB Wednesday 3rd

Welcome back to a quick preview of a few MLB games. It’s still been a rough ride to start out the 2017 season, but considering our form I’m pretty happy to only been down 2 units on the young season. The daily game predictions are looking good and that gives us confidence to keep on doing what we are doing. Time to turn the luck and start building the bank. Only a couple of games I have my eye on, but that’s all there needs to be.

Wednesday 3rd
Best Bet – Rockies $1.92 (1u)
Next Best –  Yankees -1.5 $1.99 (0.5u)
Other Bets – Reds/Pirates o8.5 $1.84 (0.5u)

New York Yankees vs Toronto Blue Jays (9.00am AEST)
Yankees ($1.48) – Tanaka (3-1, 4.20 ERA)
Blue Jays ($2.72)  – Latos (0-0, 3.27 ERA)
I’m kicking myself for letting Tanaka go from my fantasy team, he has been superb in his last 2 starts going 16 innings while giving up only 1 run.  With only wins under his belt at home he has a pretty good line up to help him get another. The Yankees are hitting the ball well at home and are 10-3 in Yankee Stadium averaging just over 6 runs a game. After a slow start the Jays are yet to get firing in 2017, and perhaps its already too late when you consider the injuries they have.  A rough 9-17 start, they did take Game 1 of this series, yet it’s still so hard to have much faith in them. They throw Mat Latos on the mound. He has been okay so far, yet in his 2 starts has failed to go past 6 innings and that Jays bullpen is not the best. I see the momentum of the Yankees bats continuing again and with Tanaka on the mound, there isn’t really much of an argument against taking the Yanks comfortably.

Suggested Bet –  Yankees -1.5  $1.99

San Diego Padres vs Colorado Rockies (12.10pm AEST)
Padres ($1.91) – Cahill (1-2, 4.50 ERA)
Rockies ($1.92)  – Chatwood (2-3, 4.88 ERA)

I’m pretty happy with the price on offer for the Rockies here. Not at Coors field, people may be hesitant to back them. I’m not. Tyler Chatwood is actually a really good pitcher, his work away from Coors Field in 2016 flew under the radar. He went 8-1 in 13 starts with an ERA of 1.69. Yes 1.69.  A  .190 BAA and  only 4 home runs. Funny what Coors Field does to you stats as a pitcher but Chatwood is actually very solid. We know the Rockies have a dangerous batting line up lead by Arenado so runs can always be on the cards and Petco Park has become rather hitter friendly of late. Having said that Trevor Cahill, who gets the nod for the Padres, had a great outting at Petco just over a week ago, going 7 strong and giving up just the 1 run. However, Trevor Cahill, I cannot ever bet on him, so inconsistent and giving up a .300 BAA against this Rox line up. Aside from Will Meyers the Padres line up isn’t too much to worry about. I rate the Rockies closer to the $1.75 mark, so I’m taking the almost even price available. Colorado are a legit team in 2017, they will win many and amass a lot of runs. Hoping this game is one of those.

Suggested Bet –  Rockies  $1.92

Hopefully your thoughts on the games match up with mine. As always these are only a select few games I was interested in, feel free to share your opinions on any games at @MLB_TheProfits on Twitter. Happy Punting.
