MLB Thursday 27th

Welcome back to a small little preview of a a couple of MLB games Im keen to bet into. It’s been an okay week so far, but we have just been lacking in a clean sweep of the days plays to really kick the 2nd half of the season off. Its very much like a yo-yo at the moment, a couple of back to back days would be lovely. Still the work so far this season has been positive and I’m very confident the results will swing our way more consistently very soon. Well the trade deadline has arrived and many teams look to be holding their cards close and waiting for the last seconds. The Red Sox have just added Nunez at 3rd Base but that doesn’t really excite too much. With rumors Yu Darvish and Sonny Gray could be moved it looks like it may heat up very soon. Lets get on to the plays though and worry about the future plays another day.

Thursday 27th
Best Bet – Dbacks -1.5 $1.99 (1u)
Next Best – Yankees -1.5 $1.87 (0.5u)
Double – Cubs/Indians $2.21 (0.5u)

New York Yankees vs Cincinnati Reds (3.05am AEST)
Yankees ($1.41) – Severino (6-4, 3.21)
Reds ($3.00) – Bailey (2-4, 8.56)

I’ve been burnt a few games in a row by Homer Bailey, but I cannot look away from the numbers. His road work has been iffy as has his whole return from injury going 2-1 with a 6.28 ERA, .356 BAA and giving up a walk every 2nd inning. Winners of 2 of their last 12 I cant take the Reds on the road. Their home field gets them a lot of wins alone, this is a poor team and a past his prime pitcher. The Yankees on the other hand need to push along after a great start to the season, they have added some players to the roster in former Red, Todd Frazier, so they a clearly pushing for the post season. Going for the series sweep with a match up that has probably been their most favorable. Luis Severino gets the nod at Yankee Stadium and it’s so far been an impressive 3rd year in the big league. A 3.88 ERA at the particular field is fine when you consider a .222 BAA. This powerful Yankees lineup is due an explosion of runs considering they have not scored more then 6 runs in over 14 games, would not be shocked for double figures so I;m taking them to cover the Run Line here.

Suggested Bet – Yankees -1.5 $1.87

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Atlanta Braves (5.40am AEST)
Dbacks ($1.50) – Corbin (7-9,4.43)
Braves ($2.62) – Blair (_, _.__)

After losing in the 2nd game of this series the Dbacks will be wanting to at least win the series 2-1 as they try and consolidate a potential Wild Card spot, or perhaps with the injury to Kershaw a chance to push for the NL West division. You need to be winning games at home against teams like the Braves an they have the edge in this match up. Patrick Corbin gets the nod for the Dbacks and his stuff at Chase field in 2017 has been beyond what they would of expected,  5-3 with a 3.15 ERA, .274 BAA in a heavily tilted hitters park is great. I like him here against an always annoying Atlanta Braves lineup, that in reality has nothing to play for. Lets not kid ourselves they wont be pushing for the WIld Card.  They throw youngster Aaron Blair on the mound, who will be making his first start in 2017. Last season he went 1-3 with a 7.84 ERA in 7 games started on the road and a 7.54 ERA overall in 15 games started. Not really going to say more, Arizona has a much better lineup capable of many runs and with this match up I must take them at the line.

Suggested Bet – Dbacks -1.5 $1.99

All Prices Quoted via Crown Bet at time of writing.

Hopefully your thoughts on the games match up with mine. As always these are only a select few games I was interested in, feel free to share your opinions on any games at @MLB_TheProfits on Twitter. Happy Punting.
