UK Horse Racing Form – Lingfield, Kelso, Punchestown, Warwick and Cork – Sunday 9 December 2012

Horse Racing - Australia

It was considered his greatest test to date when lining up against Sanctuaire at Sandown yesterday. However, far from a test it proved to be, more of an annihilation as the stunning Sprinter Sacre bounded to a comprehensive fifteenth-length success in the Tingle Creek. Ruby Walsh was intent on making it a test, heading off at a ferocious pace up front. Barry Geraghty gave Sanctuaire plenty of rope before reeling him with ease on route to riding a treble on the day. Bar a noticeable mistake at the fourth, the six-year-old jumped boldly throughout, gliding on the soft ground travelling smoothly under a motionless Geraghty. He jumped with speed and assurance putting in a superb leap over the last to confirm the inevitable. The idea Sanctuaire was in the same league as Sprinter Sacre was quickly put to bed and pundits and fans alike were left speechless despite having expected this outcome. He truly is a remarkable horse who is set to dominate for years to come.
