UK Horse Racing Form – Lingfield, Towcester, Thurles and Musselburgh – Thursday 8 November 2012

Horse Racing - Australia

Long Run is among thirty-one entries for the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day. Trained by Nicky Henderson, Long Run is attempting to regain his title lost last year to the recently retired chasing legend Kauto Star. With the five-time winner out the way, the bookies make Long Run a 4/1 favourite. The 2011 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner is also among the entries for the Betfair Chase at Haydock a little later on this month. All the vibes seem positive regarding his jumping, which was significantly improve last season. The seven-year-old is just one of many potential superstars for Henderson with RSA Chase winner Bobs Worth, Ryanair Chase winner Riverside Theatre and Champion Chase winner Finian’s Rainbow completing his squad. Arch rival, Paul Nicholls, enters five for the King George including most recent runaway Haldon Gold Cup victor Cue Card whom bookies make a 10/1 shot. Silviniaco Conti heads-up his hugely talented chasing pack. Second in the betting for the King George is the David Pipe-trained Grand Crus, who is a 5/1 shot with William Hill. He was an impressive winner of the Feltham Novice Chase at the meeting last year and has been quoted at 12/1 again with William Hill, to land both the Paddy Power Gold Cup and the King.
