Hawthorn Hawks ($1.30) vs Colliingwood Magpies ($3.60)  – MCG, Friday September 7, 7.50pm
Recent clashes
: Hawthorn 21.12 (138) d Collingwood 13.13 (91), round 17, 2012 at the MCG

Game preview: Can’t rule out the Pies.  They will have to draw on some of the expert tactics Malthouse put in last year to beat the Eagles. This will require a huge flood back to stop Hawthorn getting the easy ball forward to leads and to make them bomb it in like last years finals series. Hawks should be too good but don’t expect them to blow it away
Hawks by 26
Line: Hawks -22.5

Adelaide Crows ($1.66) vs Sydney Swan ($2.25) – AAMI Stadium, Saturday September 8, 2.45pm
Recent clashes: Adelaide 15.9 (99) defeated Sydney Swans 14.10 (94) round six, 2012 at the SCG
Game preview: Hardest game of the round to pick. Both teams met in round 6 with Adelaide winning AWAY by 5 points. Crows have been very average and very good depending on which week you look at over the last ten. It all depends which crows team turns up. Won 10 of 11 at home all year and only loss was to Pies. Have to go with the home team in Crows. With a home preliminary final the spoil for the victors, Saturday afternoon is sure to be a fierce battle.
Crows by 14
Line: Crows -7.5

Geelong Cats ($1.30) vs Freemantle Dockers ($3.60) – MCG, Saturday September 8, 7.45pm
Recent clashes:
Fremantle 16.9 (105) d Geelong 15.11 (101), round one, 2012, at Patersons Stadium
Game preview: Both teams are looking very solid from recent wins and look set to make a strong contest. The return of Sandilands has been a crucial in and will surely test the Cats. However with history on our side Geelong will simply be too good. They have switched to Finals form and were brillaint beating the Swans. Freo will stick with them but Geelong should put them to the sword in the final QTR.
Cats by 36
Line: Cats -22.5

WEst Coast Eagles ($1.22) vs North Melbourne Kangaroos ($4.40) – Patersons Stadium, Sunday September 9, 1.15pm
Recent clashes:
West Coast 12.14 (86) d North Melbourne 13.6 (84), round 15, 2012 at Blundstone Arena
Game preview: If North had taken care of Fremantle as expected two weeks back, you would be backing them.. but off the recent games you have to stick with West Coast at their fortress in the west. North could easily shock here but with an almost full team back, Eagles should win this.
Eagles by 33
Line: Eagles -27.5

Covering all things Australian Rules Football for The Profits. I’ve been a passionate supporter and follower of AFL for as long as I can remember. Having been born into a family with deep football history and tradition on both sides, you can say it runs through my blood. I’ve got a keen interest in the stats and analysis of the game, which helped me finish in the top 100 of fantasy competitions DreamTeam and Supercoach last year. While my own local football career was cut short due to injury at 22, it has created an opportunity for me to frequently watch and build a deep knowledge of the sport at its highest level. I look forward to sharing my thoughts and views throughout the season.
