MLB Friday 30th

Welcome back to a small little preview of couple of selected MLB games. It’s been a long time between previews as I have been rather busy. It’s never bad to have a break, and the plays I did make didn’t pan out so great. That shows me that you really need to take time and monitor each day, otherwise you just cannot have enough confidence to bet into too much. However it’s time to get back on the wagon as we head towards the All Star break. Lets back some winners.

Friday 30th
Best Bet –  Marlins -1.5 $2.44 (1u)
Next Best – Red Sox -1.5 $1.95 (0.5u)
Double – Dodgers/Pirates $2.96 (0.5u)
Other Bets – Yanks/White Sox o10.5 $1.90 (0.5u)

Miami Marlins vs New York Mets (9.10am AEST)
Marlins ($1.61) – Urena (6-2, 3.33 ERA)
Mets ($2.38) – Lugo (2-1, 3.72 ERA)

The Miami Marlins are just hanging below the .500 mark and look destined to make a move post All Star break. They throw Jose Urena on the mound in the final game of this series. He has had a solid season so far going 3-2 with a 2.98 ERA at home. He will get hit but he manages to consistently get himself out of jams with timely double plays with a high ground ball rate. The Mets will put the relatively inexperienced Seth Lugo on the mound. Making only his 4th start of the season as a solid minor league arm he hasn’t excelled in the big leagues, giving up his fair share of hits. The Marlins continue to hit well even though they had an off day yesterday, with Ozuna, Stanton and Yelich they should be able to cause some trouble for the inexperienced Lugo. When they win , the win well. When they win at home, they win well. Take the line here.

Suggested Bet –  Marlins -1.5 $2.44

Boston Red Sox vs Minnesota Twins (9.00am AEST)
Red Sox ($1.48) – Price (2-2, 4.76 ERA)
Twins ($2.72)  – Gibson (4-5, 6.25 ERA)

Boston have slowly made ground up on their division leading and rival Yankees. Winning 2 of the 3 games in the series so far they will not want those wins to go to waste. Avoiding a series tie they will put David Price on the mound. He has not been the Cy Young calibre pitcher they thought they were paying for however the signs look good that he can return to form coming off niggling injuries. In 2 starts at home he has a 3.75 ERA and .222 BAA.  Kyle Gibson will be tasked with handling the Sox bats. For a 5th starter in a rotation he is ok, however he just does not seem to be able to progress on into a solid consistent arm. A 5.28 road ERA does not bold well however he has pitched well at Fenway before, saying that I like Boston to get to him in this one. Looking to take control of the division they will be keen to win against the over achieving Twins.

Suggested Bet –  Red Sox -1.5  $1.95

All Prices Quoted via Crown Bet at time of writing.

Hopefully your thoughts on the games match up with mine. As always these are only a select few games I was interested in, feel free to share your opinions on any games at @MLB_TheProfits on Twitter. Happy Punting.
