MLB Mid-Week 12 Preview & Bets

Some nice midweek games ahead of us and let’s continue the winning streak. Hopefully some teams *looking at the Giants* can hold on to a lead this week and we don’t get beat in the 9th which has been the case so often this season. Some shocking bullpens around at the moment, Angels, Giants, Tigers. All teams that are challenging for divisions. Expecting some trades to strengthen a lot of teams rotations and pitching depth. An interesting month ahead leading into the All Star break. On to a few games which I am keen on.

Tuesday 17th

Best Bet –  Braves $1.97 (2U)

Next Best –  A’s -1.5 (1U)

Next Best –  Braves/A’s  $2.65 (0.5U)

Philadelphia Phillies vs Atlanta Braves (10am AEST)

Philles ($2.21) – Hamels

Braves ($1.70) – Teheran

Over/Under  –  Over 6.5 ($1.79) Under 6.5 ($2.07)

Prediction

Braves. After fighting back on Monday against a strong Angels team, the Braves will be looking to continue winning and keep the tempo up with the Nats in the ever interesting NL East race. Their Bullpen needs to step up and stop handing out runs late in the game which has plagued them this year. They should get of to a great start with Teheran on the mound. 6-4 with an ERA of 2.41. His last start was his worst all season and he surely will be out to avenge that showing. Scoring runs has been an issue for the Braves but recently they have found a way to get them on the board. Up against Hamels, 2-3 with an ERA of 3.07 I think they can continue that form. Philadelphia are such a Jekyll and Hyde team, no idea who turns up for them and how they will perform. Consistently inconsistent hence why they are 29-38 on the season. Braves win this. Price on the H2H is good enough.

Suggested Bet

Braves ($1.70)

Texas Rangers vs Oakland A’s  (12pm AEST)

Rangers ($2.49) – Lewis

A’s ($1.56) – Pomeranz

Over/Under  –  Over 7.5 ($1.84) Under 7.5 ($2.01)

Prediction

A’s. Seems like I’m predicting the A’s to win a lot right ? Well I am, and with good reason. Solid pitching and solid batting. They always turn up. Young phenom Pomeranz is 5-3 on the season with an ERA or 1.90. He has gone 7 innings in back to back starts and just continues to impress. Rangers pitcher Lewis is flat out struggling. 1-2 with an ERA of 6.59 in his last 5 starts. He has put up decent career numbers against the A’s but I just don’t see it happening today. Texas have so many players out and a once scary offense looks flat and lost. A’s take this and take it well. Wish there was a market open for a series win, alas game by game will have to do.

Suggested Bet

A’s -1.5 ($2.21)

Other Suggested Bets

Kansas City Royals vs Detroit Tigers (6am AEST)

Kansas come into this game winning 7 straight, slowly making up ground on the Tigers who have seemed to shake off that slump and start to produce. These games against divisional rivals are huge and these Tigers players are experienced and good enough to know this. I expect Detroit to take the 4 game series and show who is the real deal in the AL Central. They can’t afford to allow the Royals a sniff. Verlander has struggled but he is too good to continue that. Always solid at home against divisional rivals, Tigers take this. Low scoring game on the cards and I’m looking at the Under 8.5 for my play ($1.87), Tigers -1.5 not a bad price either.

Hope you all have a good week with your MLB betting, hopefully your thoughts on the games match up with mine. As always these are only a select few games I was interested in, feel free to share your opinions on any games at @MLB_TheProfits on Twitter. Happy Punting.
