MLB Week 11 Preview & Bets

After a solid week of profits, we came undone on Saturday morning. In what was a very tough day at the time of writing, not much held up to form and trends. Toronto aside. Just ridiculous at the moment, in the games they don’t bat well, their pitching gets the job done. The games they don’t pitch well, their batting gets the job done. It’s a great recipe and they are just money at the moment if you are backing them. The -1.5 line on them is always value. They tend to win well.

On to the games.

Best Bet

Giants -1.5  ($2.51)

Jays -1.5 ($2.24)

Bay Bridge Double A’s into Giants

New York Mets vs San Francisco Giants  (12pm AEST)

Mets ($2.30) – Colon

Giants ($1.65) – Hudson

Over/Under  –  Over 6.5 ($1.83) Under 6.5 ($2.20)

Prediction

Giants. Hudson is in amazing form right now, 6-2 on the season with an ERA 1.75. He has thrown 7 scoreless innings in his last 2 starts. He is 2nd in the NL in WHIP and 1st in ERA. His 17 career wins against the Mets are the most against any team. He is coming up against a very experienced pitcher in Colon, who fair to say is not having his best season. 5-5 with an ERA of 4.52 he is coming off some decent starts but his command has been off. His career ERA against the Giants is 5.12 and i would expect this game to go along a similar path. With some pretty decent bats and and the game at AT&T Park I expecting the Giants to take this. It may be closer than many think but the price on available on the -1.5 is too good to refuse. The over 6.5 Runs is also a great play if your more of a Runs total kind of bettor.

Suggested Bet

Giants -1.5 ($2.51)

Oakland A’s  vs Baltimore Orioles  (9am AEST)

A’s  – Gray

Orioles  – Gausman

Over/Under  –

Prediction

A’s. Gray has been nothing short of fantastic, an ERA of 2.45, 6-1 on the season and a solid WHIP of 1.15. The A’s ace who has been supported well with runs but has sparingly needed them is one of the reason this Oakland side are well ahead in the AL West. People are starting to stand up and take notice of this kid. A future Cy Young candidate for sure. Baltimore are going to combat the A’s ace with a youngster of their own in Gausman. Only the one start in the big leagues where he got roughed up by the then in form Tigers he comes up against another in form team. I cannot see him keeping the runs off the board. Gray should do enough to keep the Orioles runs to a minimum. They do have some big hitters though and are likely to score a couple. However Oakland should win this and at the time of writing no prices where available.

Suggested Bet

A’s

Chicago White Sox vs LA Angels  (12pm AEST)

White Sox ($1.78) – Sale

Angels ($2.09)  – Shoemaker

Over/Under  –  Under 7.5 ($1.92) Over 7.5 ($1.92)

Prediction

White Sox. Chris Sale is the best pitcher in Baseball right now. Period. 5-0 with an ERA of 1.59 since coming of the DL he has been amazing. Giving up only 3 hits in his last 18 innings. That is 3 hits on 54 at bats against him and only giving up 1 walk. Wow. The Sox are in a great position just above .500 and with Abreu back they have some real power. I feel they do lack hitting depth though. Shoemaker has been pretty solid for the Angels 3-1 with an ERA of 4.03. I expect this to be a close game and the Under 7.5 seems a good play. However I think the Sox edge it with Sale pitching so well at the moment. The H2H price of $1.78 is enough for me.

Suggested Bet

White Sox

Other Suggested Bets

St Louis Cardinals vs Toronto Blue Jays  (3am AEST)

The Hot Blue Jays come up against a struggling Cardinals who have now dropped to .500 on the season. Miller is not the most consistent Cardinals pitcher and the Jays have just been teeing off on any bad pitches. The Jays -1.5 at $2.24 is nice to have a play in.

Monday 9th June

Best Bets throughout the week will be posted on Twitter once markets are available

Boston Red Sox vs Detroit Tigers  (Live ESPN 10am AEST)

Red Sox – Lackey

Tigers –  Sanchez

Prediction

Tigers. Sanchez has been the Tigers best pitcher this season however he has not been supported well with runs in his outings. Currently 2-2 with an ERA of 2.15 his record should read better. Tigers have been struggling of late and snapped a losing streak beating Boston in game one of their series. This is the 3rd game and I expect this game to give them the series sweep. Boston did snap out of their 10 game skid recently and slowly got some of those games back, however we may be seeing the start of another rough patch. I just don’t think Boston has enough offense this season and against solid pitching have been struggling to get on base. Lackey has a decent record on the season 6-4 with an ERA of 3.28 and he gives his team a chance. However If Tigers bats can get back to hitting like they did in game 1 of this series they win this.

Suggested Bet

Tigers
