Champions League Final

Real Madrid vs Liverpool

This has the makings of a classic Champions League Final and it’s very much looking that way. Real Madrid are going for a 3rd straight title in this competition whilst Liverpool will be eager to relive their memory days having won the Champions League 5 times. It’ll be a tough ask for Liverpool to do that though, given the experience and confidence that Real Madrid will head into this match with. But what Liverpool lack in experience they more than make up for in the form of blistering pace and will to win this competition. The likes of Mane and Salah will be key to their chances here and it’s where they will likely get most of their joy given Real Madrid’s somewhat leaky defence of late. In their last 11 matches in all competitions they have only kept 1 clean sheet. That knack of conceding lately and against such an attack as Liverpool’s will make this a really tough test for Real Madrid’s defences. That’s not to say that Liverpool have a leak free defence and for some time it’s been a weakness and one that looks unlikely to keep a clean sheet against Ronaldo and co. This is a match that whilst goals look on the cards could very well be a stingy contest as both look to tighten up at the back. If I had to pick though, goals is the way to go in this one and experience gets the edge but only by the narrowest of margins.

Predicted Result: Real Madrid 3-2

Best Value Bet: Over 3.5 goals at $2.08

As an Australian growing up AFL was always my no.1 sport especially given I was lucky enough to grow up a few blocks from Carlton’s home ground, Princes Park, where I was lucky enough to attend many games. That’s where my passion for sport began but it was until the early 2000’s when I discovered a real passion for football with the Socceroos 2002 World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay accelerating my football journey. From there I began to follow the Premier League and haven’t looked back since. These days I’m a massive Tottenham fan where I’ve enjoyed many sleepless nights religiously watching them without missing a game despite many roller coaster feelings. There’s just something magical and glamorous when you watch the EPL and knowing the Profits owners Drew and Euan through studies, I’m now lucky enough to be able to share my thoughts on each game each week of the season.
