Horse Racing Form for Caulfield 5 February 2014

Horse Racing - Australia

Welcome to The Profits form guide for Caulfield on Wednesday 5 February 2014. Just a quick and dirty for the day. The Next Best’s have been going very well recently, but we just can’t seem to catch a break with our Best Bets of the last two weeks jumping slowly or getting injured during the run. Hopefully we can turn this trend around today. Just the three races that had runners that stick out and the confidence is only fair today. As always, I hope your form matches up with mine! Good luck and happy punting!

Best Bet
Caulfield Race 3 Jade’s Boy

Caulfield Race 3
Jade’s Boy is a horse I have a lot of time for. The outside barrier today isn’t ideal, but he maps to get a lead or sit outside of the leader today. Up to 1600m looks suited on last start run at Flemington. Weighted to win this in much easier class.
The main threat looks Alpha Beat. The two back win was only fair but last start was very well backed in harder company. He will be a long way back.

Confidence 80%
Strategy: Jade’s Boy to win

Caulfield Race 5
As the odds suggest, this is a fairly wide open race, but the favourite Final Jest is the stand out. With such a wide field, i’m expecting a bit of pace to be on out the front, which this horse hasn’t had the last two starts when flashing home. Significantly back in class today and off 58kg looks sutied. The price seems slight overs to me. I had him rated around the $4 quote.

Confidence 75%
Strategy: Final Jest to win

Caulfield Race 7
A couple of talented runners in this wide open race. Angels Beach was scratched last weekend to run in an easier race is a little iffy form wise for me. If the horse is good enough you aim for the big bucks, not a 35k race! She will certainly be the one to beat, but at the weights and price and most importantly the distance first up, I’m happ to look elsewhere.
Duet showed nothing last start and is back down in distance… not sure what to make of her.. will get far back from the barrier but is a chance.
Mrs Hadlee is a horse I have a lot of time for. Will they ride her more forward today where she is better suited?
The horse to follow for me is a bit of an outsider at $26+ currently. Bawcatme has progressed strongly this prep. Expect her to be midfield-ish from barrier 7 today. The two back run behind Beauty Cash by 0.8L when slowly away has a lot of merit. Probably should have won that race and Beauty Cash won well at MV on Friday night. Next start she put away an easier race than this by close to 2 lengths.

Confidence 75%
Strategy: Bawcatme 2 units to place 1 unit to win
