Welcome to The Profits form for Mornington on Wednesday 9 October 2013. Just two races that stick out today and only one with high confidence. The good runners have been saving themselves for better race days than this with many cups in the country. On a personal note, thanks to everyone on the kind words after our horse Miller Street won his maiden on Sunday. He is nominated for races next Friday and Saturday (Caulfield) so fingers crossed he gets into a field on Cup day! As always, I hope your form matches up with mine! Good luck and happy punting.
Mornington Race 5 Use The Lot (ONLY IF THE GROUND IS DEAD/SLOW)
Red means Top pick. Blue means second pick and Green refers to a saver pick. Orange means a speculation pick.
Mornington Race 5
Two key stand outs in what looks an interesting race.
Use The Lot is the runner here of most interest. Won 2 placed 3 from 6 on dead tracks and last two runs at this distance were in MUCH harder class with a 4th behind Star Rolling and 3rd behind Nisos before extra 400m over Caulfield win. Last start didn’t go as far forward as needed and was on a GOOD track which was the key to the poor run. Will go close today as the clear front runner.
Kim Command is the runner who has the ability to go close here today. First 3 runs have been very strong. Down to 57kg and as long as dead not good, should go close.
Strategy: Backing Use The Lot 2 Units to place 1 Unit to win
Mornington Race 8
A fair bit of pace in this one. A few classy runners going around as well.
The most interesting runner here for me is Lady Antebellum who hasn’t won since last December, but ran very well last start. Dunn gets off and Oliver gets the ride which is interesting.
The key is the tempo of the race and she is overs at the price when you consider the class of races she has won in previously. Last prep took 3 runs in to win as well and is 1/1 at this track.
Strategy: 2 units to place 1 unit to win
