Horse Racing Form for Sandown Wednesday 21 August 2013

Horse Racing - Australia

Welcome to the Wednesday form for Sandown on 21 August 2013. Most tipsters thought we were in for another wet track at Sandown with an expected Slow 7ish track. Amazingly the rain missed Sandown with only 0.2mm of rain and we have a Dead surface which brings donw the confidence on a few of the bets a little bit and has meant our Best Value was removed for the day. Moonee Valley for Saturday looks to be a very strong card and I will be on course tweeting live again from the yard with how the horses look. As always, I hope your form matches up with mine. Good luck and happy punting!

Sandown Race 3
Put up as one of our best bests a few weeks back at Flemington, Are There Any gets a new rider onboard in Duffy and is weighted to win today after the 2kg claim. From barrier 2, you hope Duffy finds the 1 out 1 back position where he maps the horse to sit and from there at the weight on the wet track should be hitting the line strongly. While Doll In Hi Heels does present as a potential challenger today, I am happy to take her on. Berrimilla is weighted poorly against our top pick from the back and Rockin’ Ransom seems to be wanting a really heavy track and I just don’t think that will happen today. The only main danger I see is Galway Gal who ran very strongly first up over an unsuitable distance at Course and is down 0.5kg today.
Confidence 75%
Strategy: Back Are There Any and saver Galway Gal

Sandown Race 4
An interesting race. Grane went into the blackbook after a very solid run at Caulfield behind Ajeeb who we know came out on the weekend and ran on very well 2nd behind Puissance De Lune. Grane speedmaps well enough to go very close again today and a wet track seems no issue. Most importantly, back down in class and only up 0.5kg is amazing.
Eight Cards sneaks into this race with 52kg on his back and back up to 1500m. Considering the drop in class today and the 2nd behind Bel Thor off 58kg two back, he looks a real danger and the $26 currently looks value.
Great Game is up in class heavily today and won well over 1300m off 4.5kg more on heavy last start. He maps well enough to be a chance.. but last start could have been due to the heavy ground that shouldn’t come today.
Bishops Castle is probably the most interesting runner. He goes well on wet tracks and in all reality, will be leading this race up and will be hard to pass.
Confidence 80%
Strategy: Backing Grane to win with a small bet on Eight Cards

Sandown Race 5
Hadronica led start to finish last start beating home Legcut but Legcut meets her 2kg better off today, although does run better on heavy ground (last start Flemington on slow was still very strong). Legcut should be betting Hadronica home today who will have to fight hard early to get front spot if they go that route today.
I personally think Snip The Dancer gets the lead from barrier 1 and down in class today up 4kg will only improve on last start 1.8L 4th to Pocket Rockets at Flemington on slow. He will be very hard to pass.
Electric Shot continues to miss the start and will need to come from far back today.
Office Bearer comes into this with a respectable weight today, but unproven on heavy/slow. The run on dead makes you feel there should be no issue handling the ground today and maps very well.
Confidence 80%
Strategy: Office Bearer at the price looks a solid bet as Moody would scratch the horse if it couldn’t handle the ground. Snip The Dancer could be value today and is a second bet.

Sandown Race 8
A tough end to the card today. There is one runner here that I feel has a big chance at a price and had to cover.
Westsouthwest has been going strongly over the hurdles and previous to that placed behind Mr O’Ceirin over 2040 and Streets of Seattle over 2000m. The 1800m may not seem far enough, but the wet ground tomorrow will give him every chance in what is his easiest race in close to a year. Beriman will ride him in a nice spot and have every chance to hit the line hard.
Confidence 65%
Strategy: Back Westsouthwest E/W.
