Horse Racing Form for Sandown Wednesday 7 August 2013

Horse Racing - Australia

Welcome to The Profits form for Sandown on Wednesday 7 August 2013. The rain has been hitting the tracks this week and Sandown has fallen into the Heavy 10 range. This instantly means you need to be careful with your bets and to lower your bet amounts unless you are super confident. There is one standout race for me today in Race 6 and I have also previewed a few key runners in Race 8 and given some situations that would make you want to back some of them. As always, I hope your form matches up with mine! Good luck and happy punting.

Sandown Race 6
The most interesting race of the day. There looks to be some fairly strong speed in the race with several horses expected to push forward. The important thing to remember is Shiny and New which on some speed maps is expected to lead, was the leader here four runs back and put on a fairly crazy speed out front that absolutely set it up for the toughest horses, the winner happened to be Oamaru Rose who is a massive price here today. Will that happen today? We will see.
As mentioned above, Oamaru Rose won here two runs back on Heavy and last start off a significantly slower speed was outsprinted. Important to note that two back she beat home by 1L Weekend Special who has come out 3 runs after that to win a very strong race at Flemington. Down in class today, she is weighted to win this and from barrier 4 will get a very solid run.
Legcut is the heavy tracker of the field with 2 wins from 2 in strong races. Last start ran a very solid 2nd of 13 at Flemington in harder grade and is down 2.5kg today. Speed maps well enough today and will be very hard to hold out. Proved three runs back at course and distance that she can handle a very solid speed out front.
Confidence 80%
Strategy: Backing Legcut 3 units to win and Oamaru Rose 1.5 units to win.

Sandown Race 8
Tough race to finish the day but there is certainly three standouts.
Tooleybuc Kid ran a very brave race last start at Flemington when he sat probably a little too far back and just didn’t find enough on the line. You get the feeling from last start that the heavy track today will be no issue and he will finding a lot to the line.
First Course is the most interesting runner today. Moloney goes on to claim which is needed off 60kg (57kg after claim) and he is the natural leader in the race with Treasury Notes looking the only other chnace. Today should see him getting his way out in front with some cheap sectionals and being able to push the button on a track that suits.
Mossale is the other danger in this race after two very strong runs recently. He beat home First Course two back even with the jockey losing the whip and loves a heavy track. Speedmaps to sit one out one back or a similar position today and if they do go slow out front, he Beriman will have him close enough to be there at the finish.
Confidence 70%
Strategy: *AS LONG AS* the course isn’t horrible for leaders, back First Course and Mossale. If leaders have been struggling all day, back Tooleybuc Kid and Mossale.
