The downpour looks set to continue across the UK and Ireland. Further meetings are forced to abandon as racing is again subject to widespread disruption. Sedgefield and even the ‘all weather’ at Southwell are the latest victims. Given the sheer amount of rain that has fallen over the past 72-hours it was no surprise to see Sedgefield abandoned as early as Sunday. Southwell was a surprise, given it’s ‘all weather’ track couldn’t live up to it’s name. The course is reportedly underwater to an extent and simply un-raceable.
