NBA Tips 25 May 2016

If the last three games of these NBA playoffs have proven anything, it’s that bookmakers are as human as the rest of us. After two wins to the Toronto Raptors and one to the Oklahoma City Thunder, all as pronounced underdogs, today’s Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals again shows the Golden State Warriors as betting favourites… but by an ever-decreasing margin. Can the defending champions bounce back to level the series?

Golden State Warriors @ Oklahoma City Thunder

If history is any indication, you bet they can. After 95 total games of the 2015-16 season, the Golden State Warriors are still yet to lose consecutive games and their current situation is only the third time they have lost two in three starts. Not only have the Warriors won all 12 games that have immediately followed a loss, they have done so by starting strong. In fact, they have never trailed at the half when rebounding from defeat, having lead at halftime on 11 occasions and going to the main break once with scores tied. This Warriors team is also no stranger to being down 2-1 in a best-of-seven series, after overcoming this exact scenario twice (against Memphis and Cleveland) on the way to capturing the 2014-15 NBA Championship. No more needs to be said. The Oklahoma City Thunder are a quality team and high on confidence but the Golden State Warriors have the runs on the board, when it comes to be excellent in must-win games. The Big Dog is all-in on the Warriors leading this one at both major whistles and squaring the series at 2-2.
