NBA – Wednesday 2 February 2011 – Betting options & tips

With 11 games on the cards we have looked at each game and given our reasons behind each pick.

We have listed the games in order of preference. This means number 1     is the most confident bet while 11 is least confident. I hope they   help   you with your tips and picking a winning bet.

Rank Away Home Win Touch/Don’t Line Reason
1 Memphis Minnesota Memphis Touch 2.5 Memphis have won 6 of last 7 while Minnesota have lost 6/7 (only beat Toronto). Memphis beat Minnesota last meeting by 20, in Memphis.
2 New Orleans Oklahoma New Orleans Touch 10.5 6 points is the most that has separated these two teams in their last 3 meetings (2 wins to Oklahoma 1 to New Orlenas). While we think Oklahoma should win, we can’t ignore the price for New Orleans. Oklahoma was tested at home by Minnesota + Washington both going to overtime while Hornets have won 11 of last 13.
3 Indiana Cleveland Indiana Touch -1.5 Indiana are 3/3 this year against Cleveland winning by 14, 11 and 9. No reason Cleveland will turn this one around.
4 Philadelphia New Jersey Philadelphia Touch 3.5 Philadelphia have won 6 of last 9. Loses by 1 OT to Orlando. 3 to Charlotte and 5 to Memphis. Philly are 2/2 against Nets this year. Nets have won 5/6 at home – not much competition to be honest.
5 Milwaukee Phoenix Phoenix Touch -1.5 Phoenix (7/3) have won their last two at home against Boston and New Orleans. With this form in mind, they should run over Milwaukee (5/5) who can’t beat decent teams away.
6 Portland Denver Portland Touch 11.5 Portland have won 6/8 and beat spurs yesterday. Denver lost two away to Philly and Nets by big margins. Beat detroit by 9 and Washington by 11 Indiana by 14 at home Recently.
7 Toronto Atlanta Atlanta Touch -5.5 Atlanta are like a YoYo but they have been fairly consistent at home. They should win this one by at least 9. Toronto have lost their last 5 away games by 9 or more.
8 Charlotte Detroit Detroit Touch 4.5 Detroit are playing well and the home advantage will be too much. These two teams have beaten each other at their home stadiums. Detroit lost to miami by 1 and beat orlando in last 5 games. While Charlottes last 2 loses on the road in 2 games have been to Utah and Clippers.
9 Chicago Clippers Chicago Don’t 2.5 Chicago have won 10/12 (only x2 loses to Charlotte). The last time these two met, Clippers won by 1 in Chicago. Chicago should win this but too close to bet on.
10 Houston Utah Utah Don’t 2.5 Utah should win this at home but Houston have been playing well away. No big enough line for either team to touch this. Should be a 4 point game either side.
11 Dallas New York New York Don’t 4.5 New York have won their last 3 at home (Detroit, Miami and Washington while Dallas have won 5 games in a row (4 at home) and 1 away win against Nets by 1. Dallas lost the 5 previous AWAY games.
