2013 Australian Open Women’s Draw Day 2

Day 1 served up some crushing defeats with Sharapova and Williams both rolling over their opponents with ease. After going 3-1 on the Day 1 Women’s draw bets, WTA Ace gives you his best bets for Day 2.

Other Bets (Confidence %)

Wickmayer 2-0 @ $1.91 (Sportsbet) – 65%

Marino v Peng

Peng has a tough draw in the Australian Open and will want to make the most out of the easier looking games. Peng, currently ranked 40 is up against world number 424 Rebecca Marino. In 2012 Marino had 6.5 months off due to mental and physical fatigue and since her return in December late 2012 has not impressed with most losses being in straight sets to players lesser in ability to Peng.
Suggested Bet: Peng 2-0 @ $1.50 (Sportsbet)

Confidence: 75%

Soler-Espinosa v Vinci

– H2H: Vinci 3-0 (Vinci 2-0 on hardcourt)
– Only 1 of the 3 H2H matches has gone over 19.5 (17 games / 21 games / 18 games)
After a disappointing first round exit in Brisbane, Vinci showed good signs in Sydney taking out talented players in Petrova and Jankovic before losing out in a good fight in the semi Radwanska 4-6 / 7-5 (Radwanska then went on to win the tournament). In late 2012 Vinci showed some good signs of improvement, especially on the hard court and I expect her to continue here. Soler Espinosa on the other hand qualified for Hobart only to be knocked out by world number 47 Elena Vesnina in straight sets 2-6 / 4-6. Soler Espinosa has a habit of not being able to get games on the board against players who are ranked in the top 50 and I think Vinci wins this in straight sets, keeping Soler Espinosa to under 8 games.
Suggested Bet: Under 19.5 games @ $1.73 (Sportsbet)
Confidence: 70%
